Experience
I began teaching in Chippewa Valley Schools in 2002. I earned my degree in History and English and Secondary Education at the University of Detroit Mercy in 2001. In June of 2007 I finished my master’s degree in Library and Information Science through Drexel University
In addition to teaching, I am currently a social studies curriculum leader where I have release time (2 hours a day) to plan and facilitate curriculum changes in social studies throughout Chippewa Valley Schools. I am also a co-leaders of the Instructional Technology Curriculum Council for Chippewa Valley Schools. In May 2006, I completed the Macomb 2020 blended learning and technology program at the Macomb ISD and became part of the course development team for the 2nd year of the cohort, where we are creating a Blackboard course for blended learning. I am now teaching the online class for Macomb County teachers through the MISD and Central Michigan University. I am also a member of the Blackboard User advisory group for the MISD as well. I was also recently named an Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert for the 2016-17 school year for the second year in a row. This year, I am part of the Chippewa Valley Schools Digital Innovator Group.
I am excited about the use of technology in the classroom and have learned and continue to learn about the new developments available to teachers and students. Using technology in my classroom lessons increases student interest and makes teaching more fun for me too!

My Family
In 2000, I married Peter Majask. He is a history teacher and basketball coach at the International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
We have 3 boys; Nathan was born 2003 and Ben was born in 2005. Our youngest Eli was born in 2009. We enjoy sharing our love of history with our boys. Either they will enjoy history like their father and I, or they will hate it! It turns out that they definitely have developed my love of technology and teach me as much as I teach them. Our favorite activity is family Minecraft night.
As a family we enjoy traveling to historical sites including Williamsburg, Gettysburg and Mackinaw. We spend much of the summer camping in Atlanta, Michigan at Canada Creek Ranch.

Interests
I love using and learning about new technology finding ways to use them in my classroom. My current focus is on all of the new Microsoft products and implementing blended learning (mostly using Office 365 and Blackboard). I also enjoy computer games; we plan Minecraft, Age of Empires, and Civilization as a family. My other great loves are researching my family genealogy and reading. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and loving all of my boys!
